The GIFT
Pastor Craig Dunaway

As we read the Bible and develop a relationship with him through our prayer life we discover that God has gifts for us.
  • Romans 12 . God gives everyone gifts and abilities because we are a part of his plan.
    • Some people don’t realize God has given them gifts.
      • If this is you go pursue them
    • Some people know their gift but haven’t used it or haven’t used it in a long time.
      • Your gift is still there and God has given it to you for a reason!
    • Some people are afraid to use their gift because they think its not good enough.
      • James 1:17 – Every good and perfect gift is from God.
      • 1 Peter 4:10-11 – 10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 11 If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ.
      • 2 Timothy 1:6-7 -I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, 7 for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
      • Paul Instructs us to use our gifts in
        • Ephesians 4
        • 1 Corinthians 12
        • The body of Christ aka the church will never be the healthy beacon it could be until we are all using our gifts together!

PRAYER: A Privilege & Obligation
Pastor Jimmy Smuda

“What the Church needs today is not more machinery or better, not new organizations or more novel methods, but men whom the Holy Ghost can use—men of prayer, men mighty in prayer.”—E.M. Bounds

James 5:16- The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much…

Prepare to Pray

Learn to withdraw

Luke 4:42 42 Now when it was day, He departed and went into a deserted place. And the crowd sought Him and came to Him, and tried to keep Him from leaving them;

Have a Posture of Prayer

“The body ought to pray as well as the soul. Body and soul are both better for it.”-C.S. LEWIS

Pray Scripture

Pray fervently-

Webster’s New World Dictionary of American English defines fervent as “hot; burning; glowing; having or showing great warmth of feeling; intensely devoted or earnest, ardent.”

“How do I pray”?

Matthew 6:5-15

“And when you pray, you shall not be like the a]hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
10 Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
13 And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
14 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
